I have dedicated many years of my life to professional makeup, and it has allowed me to experience the physical and emotional transformations that people go through when they see a version that they like of themselves in front of the mirror. It is an inspiring experience to see how an object that has reminded us for centuries about our imperfections is firmly confronted by challenging eyes rejoiced with satisfaction. Being an accomplice to create this feeling has been a constant motivation in my life and represents the engine of my work.
In my paintings, I enjoy to line and contour the plurality of expressions which the human face is capable to produce, providing a unique identity to the characters that I conceive in a world of brushes, pigments and textures. Shadows and highlights enhance and attenuate their personalities, capturing the paramount moment when their “perfect” version is revealed. These characters overcome the vanity of the mirror, making it burst into pieces that reflect the discovery of ethereal beauty. For me, portraying that sensation is magical.
